Am I not suppose to have video? I can hear you,,but you cannot hear me. ??
Joanna Bloter, CMJLGW4 Office
31:51
Hi Cynthia, thanks for joining us. The folks on video/speaking are members of our redistricting taskforce. The meeting is in webinar mode for all other attendees. Thanks!
Daria Winter

James is not visible on my screen. Can he be shown?
Jenn Kauffman (she/ella)
36:17
I neglected to share where I am! Brightwood Park, 4D02
Daria Winter

The opportunity for residents to weigh in at various levels of decision-making of this task force will be important in developing consensus throughout the Ward. I only saw notice of this meeting at 12:00 noon today. Thanks.
Jenn Kauffman (she/ella)
49:36
Absolutely; I agree Daria and that will definitely be an essential part of this process for it to be successful! Thank you
Jenn Kauffman (she/ella)

Abe Clayman
01:23:19
Would it be possible to have 3G06 and 3G07 added to the Ward 4 maps?
Abe Clayman
01:23:52
The reason I ask is so that we can see how moving 3/4G SMD boundaries affect other SMDs within that ANC?
Janet Hailes
01:26:46
Just with that quick review that Joanna shared the SMDs right around 4C02 are all over 2100 so our work will be to rebound several right in that area?
Cesse Ip (she/her)
01:27:09
Will the ANC letter boundaries also be able to be changed?
Cesse Ip (she/her)
01:29:10
ok cool I think you answered my question
Daria Winter
01:29:49
If there is an overlap of Ward 3 ANCs into Ward 4 can they simply be shifted back to Ward 3 reducing the population of Ward 4 ANCs?
Abe Clayman
01:39:20
Sorry for jumping in w/o hand raising. I don't see that feature on my Zoom :(
Abe Clayman
01:43:53
This time is perfect for me! Naptime for my two little kids lines up nicely.
Bobby King
01:44:06
This time works well for me
Abe Clayman
01:44:08
(and they go to bed early so the evening times work too!) :)
Cesse Ip (she/her)
01:47:50
i can write a petworth news article to solicit some engagement!
Abe Clayman
01:50:50
One idea about soliciting input. ANCs may pass resolutions about potential boundary changes. I'm not sure if we are legally required to provide those resolutions "great weight" (not a lawyer!) but I think we should decide as a group whether we want to respond to those resolutions over the next two months or whether we want our final report to stand on its own.
Tischa Cockrell
01:52:54
I agree
Abe Clayman
01:52:56
Agree with Janel! So many great resources already on the CM's page.
Jenn Kauffman (she/ella)
01:53:06
Agree,
Daria Winter
01:53:07
Thanks, Naima. Responding to the public is most important. For example, I have asked a question about the Ward 3 ANCs. I would like a response to that question, though it may sound like a suggestion. I am asking a question about the Ward 3 ANC boundaries. If the challenge has to do with too many people in Ward 4 ANCs, I realize there is not a simple answer to that challenge. However, the Ward 3 ANC boundaries should be explored as a possible solution.
Jenn Kauffman (she/ella)
01:53:18
I have a suggestion re: community input
Joanna Bloter, CMJLGW4 Office
01:53:25
Office of Plannin does have video tutorials of the maps and map making software tool
Tischa Cockrell
01:54:51
I agree with Daria as well regarding ANC input
Janet Hailes
01:56:32
We have a large contingent of active seniors who do not have twitter or Facebook pages. Therefore are we planning on emailing them this information?
Joanna Bloter, CMJLGW4 Office
01:57:38
FYI - New Ward 4 Covid ite opening this week or next
Tischa Cockrell
01:57:40
Yes Janet. I suggest flyers, but how would we desiminate them?
Bobby King
01:58:39
Does anyone use the Nextdoor app?
Daria Winter
01:58:47
O!utreach is most important, Bobby! Moreover, Jenn, thanks for the suggestions about creative ways to reach out beyond the List Servs. Seniors should not be neglected.
Jenn Kauffman (she/ella)
01:58:58
Agree with Janet! We need to be thinking very intentionally about reaching beyond the digital divide.
Tischa Cockrell
01:59:25
I do sometimes Bobby
Bobby King
02:00:47
Nextdoor could be useful in bringing the information on the work of our taskforce to people who use it
Jenn Kauffman (she/ella)
02:02:15
I would be willing (4D02 resident)
Abe Clayman
02:02:47
Happy to help present. 3/4G resident and former commissioner so that would make the most sense to me.
Tischa Cockrell
02:02:51
I may be will for ANC4B
Bobby King
02:02:57
I would be willing to do so (4C02)
Tischa Cockrell
02:02:58
*willing
Janet Hailes
02:03:04
I am willing to attend an ANC meeting: 4C02
Tischa Cockrell
02:03:14
Thanks Barbara!
Cynthia W Johnson
02:03:14
Perhaps ANC Commissioners can sign Community Service sheets to students to pass out flyers??
Jenn Kauffman (she/ella)
02:03:17
I am interested in helping with flying, especially with hard-to-reach communities
Abe Clayman
02:05:53
In terms of sharing information with ANC commissioners, one way I think about it is - "I'm happy to provide information but decisions are made at the public meetings."
Abe Clayman
02:06:04
Hope that's helpful. Already had two former ANCs reach out!
Abe Clayman
02:06:19
That's right!
Abe Clayman
02:06:33
Very true :) We are making recommendations.
Tischa Cockrell
02:06:52
Thanks Abe!
Cesse Ip (she/her)

Thanks Naima!
Bobby King

That would be very helpful.
James Williams
